gap-float software package provides multi-precision floating-point computation for GAP, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gap-float
gap-float is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gap-float package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gap-float *
You will get with gap-float package name, version, architecture and description in a table
